Depeche Mode release their highly anticipated 13th studio album Delta
Machine at the Sony Music label Columbia Records. The album, which was
recorded in the course of the past year in Santa Barbara, California
and New York, was directed by producer Ben Hillier and was mixed by
Flood. In addition to a standard CD Delta Machine is also available in
a deluxe edition with four additional songs and a 28-page hardcover
book with photos of their long-term artistic partner Anton Corbijn.
"I
had great respect for it to write this album, because I wanted the
songs sound very modern," says Martin Gore. "I want the people
listening feel good and find some kind of peace. There is something
very magical."
"With this release, we have our ideas how to make
an album completely on its head," adds Dave Gahan. "If we do not
progressed to a point, because we had the impression that it starts to
sound normal, then we threw everything overboard and gave the whole
these organic Depeche Mode sound. I can not wait to have all Delta
